A 2013 magna cum laude graduate of the Berklee College of Music with a degree in drum set performance, Sam Ward is one of the more versatile drummers on the scene. He has been playing professionally and teaching since his days at Pingree High School, and has toured the northeast United States and Canada with his former band, Goosepimp Orchestra before he was even 21 years old. Sam spent the few years following his graduation from Berklee in Boston playing with some of the more notable wedding/corporate function bands in the area, including Goodwill and Them Apples, Sweet Tooth and the Sugarbabies, Silver Arrow Band, Cover Story Entertainment and many more. During his downtime between gigs with these bands, he continued to tour nationally as the drummer and musical director of his original eclectic funk band, Naughty Octopus, amongst several others. After having relocated to Los Angeles in the fall of 2017, Sam was hired as the drummer for original LA based radio punk band, 42 King. Shortly thereafter, Sam was hired to be the drummer and official band member of reggae/rock band 4th & Orange, based in Long Beach, CA. The band was signed to Atlantic Records and Latium Entertainment in April of 2019, then Paradigm Talent Agency in August of 2019, and has released one studio album since. The band stayed active during the pandemic doing regular livestream events via Sessions Live, Twitch, Ascension Music Fest, Reggae 360 etc. and writing for a second studio album. Sam has performed with other notable artists such as Ally Brooke of Fifth Harmony and Tyga on the Late Late Show with James Corden in 2019. He also performed and recorded with Long Beach rapper Philieano in 2019 and 2020. Sam continues to teach drums and percussion privately additionally, as well as do regular freelance session work, and is very active on social media as one of the newest and most in demand drummers on the LA scene.
