About Sam

Sam WardA 2013 magna cum laude graduate of the Berklee College of Music with a degree in drum set performance, Sam Ward is one of the more versatile drummers on the scene. He has been playing professionally and teaching since his days at Pingree High School, and has toured the northeast United States and Canada with his former band, Goosepimp Orchestra. Sam spent the few years following his graduation from Berklee in Boston playing with some of the more notable wedding/corporate function bands in the area, including Goodwill and Them Apples, Sweet Tooth and the Sugarbabies, Silver Arrow Band, Cover Story Entertainment and many more. During his downtime between gigs with these bands, he continued to tour nationally as the drummer and musical director of his original eclectic funk band, Naughty Octopus, amongst several others. After having relocated to Los Angeles in the fall of 2017, Sam was hired as the drummer for original alternative rock band, Brian McShea and the Sidemen, as well as the LA based radio rock band, 42 King. He continues to musically direct his own band, Naughty Octopus as well as play drums for artists such as Nicole Alexandra, Ishmael and the Deep Blue Sea, Lucky Devils Band and is the drummer for the Westwood Hills Christian Church, among others. Sam also continues to teach drums and percussion privately, teaching students in Boston, Los Angeles and various parts of the world via Skype.
